How Korean Age Works

Korea used to have a unique age-counting system where everyone turns one year older on January 1st, and babies are considered 1 year old at birth. However, since June 2023, Korea officially adopted the international age system (만나이) for legal and administrative purposes.

Three Age Systems in Korea
